.DISCUSSION...
Winds will be light and variable today, generally from the southwest
this morning, and turning to the south then southeast to east
during the afternoon.  Wind speeds are expected to be 5 mph or below.
There is a strong temperature inversion in place over the area this
morning.  The mixing height at 1000 AM is forecast to be below 1000
feet.  However the inversion should break between 1000 and 1100 AM
this morning and the mixing height should rise quickly to 3000-4000
feet, topping out over 6000 feet this afternoon.  High low level
instability should allow smoke to rise quickly after the inversion
breaks, however smoke dispersal will be poor to fair at best due
to weak transport winds through the mixed layer.
