The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northeastern Marion County in south central Illinois...

* Until 300 AM CDT.

* At 235 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
  tornado was located 6 miles northeast of Salem, moving northeast
  at 65 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught
           without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or
           destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will
           occur. Tree damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Salem, Kinmundy, Omega, Stephen Forbes Station, Iuka, Alma and
  Brubaker.

This includes Interstate 57 in Illinois near exit 127.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
building away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home,
or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.
