   the week.

Today will be two to three degrees cooler than what was observed
Sunday as the upper high continues moving eastward into the
southeast CONUS. This trend will continue Tuesday with highs cooling
by an additions degree or two. The eastward moving upper high will
also make southeast Texas the likely area for landfall for potential
tropical cyclone five, resulting in widespread rainfall.
Unfortunately, this system and its moisture will stay east of the
FA. Surface troughing to our west will keep surface winds out of the
south to southeast around 10-15 mph.

(Tuesday night through next Sunday)

The rest of the forecast for the rest of the week will be relatively
benign. The upper high will remain over the southeast CONUS through
late week. Upper ridging will stretch far enough westward to keep
the forecast dry with upper southwesterly monsoon flow staying well
to our west. The plus side is temps should stay fairly steady and
not too hot through much of the week. The upper high is still
progged to retrograde over the weekend, eventually settling over the
central CONUS. This would bring the return of more widespread 100
degree highs while continuing dry conditions.
