 - A Heat Advisory is in effect for the entire forecast area
   today.

 - Triple digit high temperatures will persist through at least
   Friday.

.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Tuesday)
Issued at 1039 PM CDT Sun Jul 26 2026

Mild and benign conditions remain expected overnight with lows in
the 70s. A broad upper level ridge will continue to dominate the
region Monday along with south-southwesterly winds and mostly sunny
skies. Highs will be a few degrees warmer than Sunday, with
temperatures off the Caprock exceeding 105 in many locations.
As such, a Heat Advisory is in effect from 1 PM to 9 PM for the
entire forecast area.

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday night through next Sunday)
Issued at 1039 PM CDT Sun Jul 26 2026

The aforementioned upper ridge will slowly track westward through the
week and very little change is expected through Friday across the
region. Widespread triple-digit highs will persist, with
temperatures around 105 or greater off the Caprock. Once the
center of the high reaches the Four Corners area, this will allow
for the potential for shortwaves and subsequent ridge-rider
storms to move into our area. However, models do not look overly
impressive at this time. Despite a potential "cold" front as well
moving through Saturday, temperatures only look to drop a few
degrees.
