.DISCUSSION...
Elevated fire weather conditions will exist over much of the region
again Monday. 20 foot winds will begin out of the southwest Monday
morning before transitioning to the west by the afternoon with wind
speeds increasing to around 15 mph. Most areas remain dry with ERCs
in the 95 percentile. Some areas did get beneficial rainfall Saturday
that will help slightly with fuel moisture, but today and Monday`s
heat will counteract most of the benefit. There is a very low chance
for isolated thunderstorms across the far southern Texas Panhandle
Monday evening and will bring the chance for lightning induced fires.
However, the potential for storms is too low for a mention in the
forecast. A Fire Danger Statement will likely be needed for Monday.
