.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures will be slightly cooler on Monday afternoon with
relative humidity values dropping to around 25 percent area wide.
However, wind speeds will be higher than has been observed in recent
days. Southwesterly winds Monday morning will turn to the south by
the afternoon and increase to speeds between 15 and 20 mph with
gusts up to 30 mph at the 20 foot level. However, forecast RFTI
values are still zero due to the recent improvement in ERC values. A
marginal risk of elevated fire weather conditions will exist off
the caprock into the southeastern Texas Panhandle where ERC values
are highest but confidence is not high enough to warrant the
issuance of a rangeland fire danger statement.
