.DISCUSSION...
Southwesterly winds of 12-18 mph will remain intact through dusk,
with RH values holding steady near 10 percent. Temperatures are
currently 86 degrees on nearby West Texas Mesonet sites, and
temperatures will hold steady through 5 PM CST and begin to fall
thereafter. Mixing heights will remain very high through dusk and
allow smoke to ventilate. There is an expectation for winds to
shift to the northeast by 8-9 PM CST as a cold front moves in from
the northeast, with speeds near 10-15 mph at the surface and 20
foot levels. RH will rise quickly behind the cold front. The
northeasterly winds will become easterly near midnight CST, with
RH recovering to 50 percent by 10 PM CST and near 80 percent by
Monday morning.
