relative to tidal currents. Expect higher waves when winds are
blowing against the tidal flow.  Waves flat where waters are iced over.

.SYNOPSIS FOR THE TIDAL POTOMAC AND MD PORTION OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY...

A cold front will slowly push south of the area early this morning.
This frontal zone will stall off to the south near the
Virginia/North Carolina border through the middle of the week. By
Thursday, eventually this system pulls away farther to the south and
 east as a cold front. Weak high pressure returns by late in the
week. Small Craft Advisory conditions may linger into Tuesday for
portions of the waters. As Hurricane Erin passes well to the east,
Small Craft Advisories may be needed late Wednesday into Thursday.
