...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
  expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central and northern Maryland, including the
  following counties, in central Maryland, Anne Arundel and Howard.
  In northern Maryland, Baltimore.

* WHEN...Until 1115 PM EDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water
  crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 505 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned
    area.
  - The Patapsco River near Elkridge below Patapsco Valley State
    Park has reached minor flood stage, of around 19 feet at 440
    PM. Additional rises in the river are possible. Some roads
    are likely impassable, including Hammonds Ferry Road and
    Furnace Avenue.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
