.DISCUSSION...
A cold front is progressing eastward this evening. Westerly winds
are likely to be gusty at times behind this front with gusts up to 30
to 35 mph. Cold and blustery winds continue into the night with low
temperatures in the mid 20s. Upslope snow showers develop overnight
and continue into Monday. While there is some uncertainty in how much
accumulates, it appears likely this spot will see at least an inch or
two of snow through Tuesday morning. The high end potential is 4 to 6
inches, especially on the ridges.
A cold and blustery pattern continues into Tuesday with daytime
highs not escaping the 20s and nighttime lows confined to the
teens. The coldest wind chill values will be Monday night, when they
could be near zero. Otherwise, expect wind chill values to drop into
the teens late tonight and not rise above that until Wednesday.
Expect northwesterly gusts potentially up to 30 to 35 mph
at times on Monday, with 35 to 45 mph gusts on Monday night as an
additional disturbance in the atmosphere moves through. Winds turn more
westerly on Tuesday with gusts of 30 to 40 mph. Daytime RH values
stay rather high (60 to 70 percent), with good overnight
recoveries near 90 percent. Besides visibility reductions in snow,
the lowest cloud heights are expected tonight and possibly Monday night,
which could obscure the terrain at times.
Tuesday night: Partly cloudy with a low in the lower 20s. Winds SW 10
to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Max RH around 70 percent.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high in the mid 40s. Winds W 15 to 20
mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Min RH around 55 percent.
Wednesday night: Partly cloudy with lows in the upper 20s. Winds W 10
to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Max RH around 85 percent.
Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high in the lower 40s. Winds W 10 to 15
mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Min RH around 55 percent.
