.DISCUSSION...
Abundant cloud cover is expected over the fire site through
tonight. Westerly winds today of 15 to 20 mph will gust up to 35
mph, increasing toward nightfall. A few sprinkles or showers are
possible at times through mid morning, then again from mid
afternoon through early evening. Overall rainfall amounts only
look to be around one to perhaps two tenths of an inch, however.
A strong cold front will approach this evening, then cross the
site overnight. This will cause an increase in winds to 20 to 30
mph, gusting 40 to 50 mph at times. The highest gusts are likely
as the front crosses this evening, then again on Sunday. The setup
may be favorable for enhanced downsloping winds out of the west to
northwest on Sunday, which could result in a few gusts around 55
mph at times.
Winds likely linger Sunday night into Monday before gradually
subsiding late Monday afternoon into Monday night.
In terms of relative humidity, that will be elevated into this
evening before falling sharply tonight into Sunday especially just
east of the ridgelines. Values at the ridgetop may stay around 50
to 60 percent, but could fall to below 40 percent just downwind.
