.DISCUSSION...

A cold front will slowly move off to the west through tonight.
This boundary has become the focus for shower and
thunderstorm development, especially south and west of the Potomac
River late this afternoon into early this evening. The heaviest
thunderstorms are most likely to stay off to the west, but
showers are likely with a possible thunderstorm, with the best
chance for a thunderstorm between 8 PM and 11 PM this evening.
Any thunderstorms will produce lightning along with the
threat for flooding. Gusty winds are also possible.

Visibility will most likely 3 to 5 miles through this evening in
haze due to smoke from wildfires upstream.

Ceilings will lower later this evening as low clouds develop in the
easterly flow, most likely after 10 PM this evening.

Visibility and ceilings will be locally lower in any thunderstorms
that develop.
