This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

A Flood Watch is in effect for the Washington Metropolitan area
through this evening. Scattered instances of flooding are
possible, especially late this afternoon and evening.

A Severe storm with damaging winds and perhaps a tornado is
possible late this afternoon through this evening, especially
across the southern suburbs of Washington into the Virginia
Piedmont.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms capable of producing
damaging wind gusts are possible Thursday afternoon. There is the
potential for considerable storm damage from 70 mph gusts.

An extended period of excessively hot and humid conditions is
expected Sunday through at least the middle of next week. Daily
heat indices in the afternoon and evening of 100 to 110 are
expected, and up to 115 degrees is possible.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern West
Virginia, northern and central Virginia, and central and western
Maryland.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

A Flood Watch is in effect from through 10pm tonight for portions
of western central Maryland, the eastern WV Panhandle, northern
Virginia, the Shenandoah Valley, and portions of the central
Virginia Piedmont, and through midnight for portions of north-
central Maryland. Scattered instances of flooding are possible
late this afternoon and evening.

A few severe storms with damaging wind gusts are possible late
this afternoon through this evening. A tornado is also possible
during this time.
