Here is a look at the weather features that will affect the region
over the next several days.

High pressure will remain anchored offshore through the week. A
warm front will lift northeastward across the Mid-Atlantic
today, marking the beginning of a prolonged period of heat.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible near the mountains this
afternoon and Tuesday, but otherwise dry weather is expected
through Saturday. The heat is predicted to peak Friday into the
coming weekend.
