 into much of next week.

 if ensemble and deterministic model trends continue.

High pressure will continue to dominate the weather pattern
through the rest of this week and into the weekend. While some
low-end rain chances are possible underneath the ridge, it is not
all that likely as the ridge centers itself over the state.

With this pattern change, dangerously hot temperatures are
expected through the weekend as temperatures soar to above
average. Many locations will likely see temperatures rise to near
100 degrees or just above with heat index values slightly
higher. An extreme heat warning and heat advisories are in effect
through Sunday.

Remember that if need to be outside for any reason, make sure to
take plenty of breaks and find shade to rest in. Also be sure to
drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen.

pressure dominates the weather pattern. Winds will be mostly light
and variable overnight before becoming out of the southwest by
