.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 106 AM CDT Thu Jul 17 2025

Another hot and sultry aftn is in store for the Natural State
today, w/ high temps set to climb to the upper 90s, and some
locations flirting with near triple digit heat, particularly acrs
Srn AR. Hot and humid condns wl cont to headline the fcst, w/ some
ocsnl chcs for rain chcs mixed in over the next seven days,
including low-end rain chcs acrs Nrn AR again later this aftn to
evng, invof a stalled frnt over the Ozark Plateau, but most precip
wl lkly manifest as isolated showers and storms, w/ a lucky few
receiving cooling rainfall/outflow.

Thru the weekend, more widespread PoPs remain possible as Gulf
moisture fm a weak tropical system moves acrs the Gulf Coast.
Uncertainties remain for now regarding the extent of precip covg,
and magnitude of rainfall. Any potential relief fm weekend rainfall
wl be short-lived though, w/ above-normal heat resuming by early
next week. Swrly sfc winds acrs the Srn Cntrl US and H500 high
pressure bcmg centered over the FA wl contribute to area temps
climbing to the century mark over portions of the FA thru at least
the first half of next week.
