.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Friday afternoon)
Issued at 221 AM CDT Thu Jun 19 2025

Ridging remains overhead the next couple of days keeping most of the
region dry and hot. Subsidence will suppress most clouds outside of
the higher terrain where moist upslope flow will lead to an isolated
storm or two, especially this afternoon. By Friday, most CAMS keep
the region dry. Luckily, it won`t be as hot as the last couple of
days, but temperatures will remain above normal. Highs will reach
the upper 90s each afternoon with 100s along the Rio Grande.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Friday night through Wednesday)
Issued at 221 AM CDT Thu Jun 19 2025

Upper level ridge takes hold over the southeast US this weekend and
holds over the eastern US for the next few days afterward.
southwesterly flow aloft begins over the CWA and moisture is pulled
in from the west with low level moisture brought in from the
southeast. Rain chances move up for areas west of the Pecos River
Valley each day of the long term. Showers and storms will be
isolated to scattered in nature each day. Rain amounts are
uncertain, but should become clearer over the next couple of days.
High temperatures sit near normal in the mid to upper 90s for most
locations with 100s hanging on in the Big Bend. Lows stay near or
just above normal in the low to mid 70s.
