- Strong west winds (40 to 50 mph, gusts up to 65 mph) for the
  Guadalupes/Delawares Monday morning through Monday evening.

- Mild daytime temperatures (60s to 70s F highs) and chilly
  nighttime temperatures (40s to 50s F lows) this week.

Current satellite shows a large upper low over the Four Corners
region this morning. Divergence ahead of the trough is bringing
some isolated showers to northern Lea County which will shortly
move off to the east. Later this morning, strong winds on the
southern periphery of the low will move into the Guadalupe
Mountains where a High Wind Warning is in effect. Breezy to windy
conditions will spread into the adjacent plains but recent
rainfall should prevent blowing dust. Downsloping winds send
temperatures above normal this afternoon with highs reaching into
the upper 70s to 80s. The low moves into the plains this evening
pushing a cold front through the CWA. Lows tonight drop into the
lower 50s or upper 40s with highs Tuesday back down to normal.

(Tuesday night through Sunday)

The extended forecast period will be dominated by zonal upper
flow. The lack of an amplified pattern will fail to generate much
warming or advect in cooler temperatures, so expect near normal
temperatures to continue. A weak cold front arrives next weekend
but will not have access to any cooler Canadian air. Westerly flow
will also keep moisture to our east keeping PoPs out of the
forecast.

MVFR/IFR has returned to KMAF/KHOB with VFR prevailing at the rest
of the terminals. Southerly winds will switch to the west
following a front late morning. Expect gusts to around 30 kts
across all terminals during the afternoon.
