.SHORT TERM...
(This afternoon through Monday night)
Issued at 1257 PM CST Sun Nov 2 2025

Southerly winds have returned and temperatures have responded with
most locations in the 70s currently. Expect a more mild night with
lows mostly in the 40s. Mid level ridging builds overhead Monday
helping boost temperatures back into the 80s. Lows fall back into
the 40s Monday night under mostly clear skies. With no rain in
sight, about all we can talk about is temperatures and even then,
it`s not that exciting.

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday through Saturday)
Issued at 1257 PM CST Sun Nov 2 2025

An upper-level ridge sits over west Texas on Tuesday further
increasing temperatures due to sufficient subsidence. As a result,
highs are forecast to be in the upper 70s to mid 80s for most
locations. Quasi zonal flow takes shape in the upper levels by
Wednesday lasting through Thursday shifting to westerly flow
aloft. Guidance also shows a prevalent low-level thermal ridge
developing over west Texas and southeast New Mexico both of these
days as a weak boundary approaches from the Texas Panhandle. This
will push highs into the low to upper 80s for most locations with
a few spots reaching the lower 90s near/along the Pecos River.
Lows throughout this upcoming week are not going to differ much
being in the 40s to mid 50s each morning. By Friday, long range
guidance is becoming in more agreement with a shortwave trough
moving through portions of the Central Plains which will send a
weak cold front to the region. There still remains uncertainty
with the exact frontal timing and positioning of the trough.
Latest trends show the cold front arriving by Friday. Depending on
the timing of the cold air behind the front, Friday`s highs may
range in the mid 70s to low 80s, perhaps warmer if the cold front
arrives in the region slower than expected. Regardless,
temperatures will stay above normal for this time of year, along
with dry conditions persisting through Saturday.
