Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
1259 AM CST Thu Nov 20 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Widespread rain today and again early next week will help keep
fire weather concerns low through the rest of November. Gusty
winds will develop behind a cold front this afternoon into
Friday across the Guadalupe Mountains and surrounding plains.
Even with stronger winds, cooler temperatures and continued
elevated RH values are expected behind the front helping to
mitigate any fire weather concerns. Another storm system is due
late in the weekend once again bringing a chance of showers and
thunderstorms.

For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather
Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather
Service Office.
