Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
132 PM CDT Thu Aug 20 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns are low despite very warm to hot temperatures,
min RHs near to below critical 15% across western higher terrain,
and fuel ERCs in the 50th to 74th percentile/climbing with
widespread lack of wetting rains. This is due to fair to excellent
overnight recoveries and relatively light winds.
