Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
245 PM CDT Tue Jun 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns remain low this week, due to increased low
level moisture, consequent higher relative humidity, and low ERCs.
The biggest concerns will be dry lightning starts and
gusty/erratic winds accompanying thunderstorms. Recovery
overnight will be poor from the West Texas Guadalupe Mountains
down through the Presidio Valley, but moderate to excellent
elsewhere. Recovery Wednesday night will be moderate to
excellent. Relative humidity will bottom out at 6-41% Wednesday
afternoon, and 13-36% Thursday.
