Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
220 PM CDT Sat Jun 22 2024

.DISCUSSION...

While a warming trend after today will bring temperatures above
average, light winds, min RH above critical 15% and recent rains
will keep widespread fire weather conditions from developing.
Isolated storms over the Sacramento Foothills and Davis Mountains
each afternoon from heating of elevated terrain could pose a risk
of fire starts from lightning and gusty, erratic winds over
critically dry fuels. A weak front midweek could bring increased
chance of showers and storms, but any accumulations are expected
to remain small, with accumulations greater than a few tenths of
an inch only over the Sacramento Foothills.
