184 FNUS54 KMAF 270803 FWFMAF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX 303 AM CDT Mon May 27 2024 .DISCUSSION... This afternoon, 20ft winds decrease but conditions remain extremely dry after another morning of poor moisture recovery. Still, ~20mph winds in and around the Guadalupe Mountains yield another day of near-critical fire weather today and tomorrow. Better moisture returns with lower fire concerns Wednesday and beyond with storms out east which may bring a lightning threat and gusty and erratic winds. && For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather Service Office.
