Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
112 PM CDT Fri Aug 29 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns remain low. Rain chances begin to increase
across the region this afternoon. More widespread rainfall and
below normal temperatures arrive with a cold front on Saturday.
This will keep relative humidity well above critical levels with
excellent overnight recovery. ERCs are nearing the 75th
percentile, but with the anticipated rains, expect fuels to
improve.
