Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
1252 PM CDT Sat Aug 30 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Min RH above critical 15%, good to excellent overnight recovery,
seasonable temperatures, fuel ERCs below 75th percentile, and
light 20-ft winds will all allow for maintenance of low fire
weather conditions into next week. There is a very low probability
of fire starts from lightning and gusty erratic winds in storms,
but high fuel moisture, continued vegetation greenery, and cooler
temperatures are expected to limit ignition, intensity, and spread
of any flames.
