Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
109 PM CDT Thu Oct 9 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Min RH above critical 15%, good to excellent overnight recovery,
fuel ERCs still largely below 75th percentile, and mostly light
20- ft winds will limit fire weather conditions. Drier fuels and
fading greenery from a few weeks lack of rain over most of the
area and gusty winds and warmer than average temperatures this
weekend may pose some risk for ignition of flames, but cloudier
and more humid conditions late this weekend into next week will
again lower this risk.
