Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
220 PM CDT Sun Sep 13 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Low fire weather conditions continue due to min RH remaining
above 15%, good to excellent overnight recovery, and relatively
light 20- ft winds, despite ERCs in the 50th to 74th percentile
and continued above normal temperatures. Fire starts from
lightning and strong, erratic winds with isolated daytime storms
are possible, but overall risk of fire spread will remain low.
Temperatures gradually cool through this week while rain chances
gradually increase across mainly the western half of the area.
