...NWS Damage Survey for June 8, 2025 Thunderstorm Wind Events...

A survey was completed on June 9, 2025 investigating damage that was
reported in the city of Big Spring from a thunderstorm that moved
from southern Midland/Odessa northeast through to Colorado City
during the early evening hours of June 8th.

A thunderstorm moved through the Big Spring area during the early
evening on June 8, 2025. This thunderstorm had a history of
producing damaging winds and wind driven hail per reports from areas
in east Midland, Greenwood, and Stanton. The most significant damage
came from a microburst that the storm produced in central Big
Spring. Much of the reported damage was from sections of metal
roofing being peeled back or torn off either partially or completely
from some buildings. Due to this, top winds were estimated to be 119
MPH. No injuries were reported.
