377 FXUS62 KMFL 051901 AFDMFL Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Miami FL 201 PM EST Wed Feb 5 2025 ...Dry Weather Will Continue Over South Florida Through Early Next Week... .SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Thursday) Issued at 1217 PM EST Wed Feb 5 2025 Mid-level ridging over the western Caribbean and surface high over the Gulf states will promote mostly dry and pleasant weather conditions across South Florida through the short term. Light easterly/southeasterly flow will help keep dewpoints in the upper 60s/lower 70s, making for warm temperatures each afternoon. Highs will reach the mid 80s across southwest FL, while the moderating influence of the light sea breeze will help keep temperatures along the East Coast in the low 80s. The available low-level moisture will again open the door to areas of patchy fog developing overnight into Thursday morning, but model probabilities show a low chance for dense fog (< 20% chance) compared to what has been seen over the last several days. && .LONG TERM... (Thursday night through next Tuesday) Issued at 121 PM EST Wed Feb 5 2025 The long range models continue to show a ridge of high pressure over the Western Atlantic waters extending westward into South Florida through early next week. This pattern will block any fronts frontal boundaries or shortwave energy well off to the north resulting in mainly dry conditions through early next week. This pattern will also keep an light to moderate easterly wind flow over South Florida through early next week which in turn will focus the warmest temperatures over the western areas of South Florida. Highs each day will be in the lower to mid 80s over most areas, except around 80 each coast areas. Heat indices could get up to around 90 over the western interior areas late this weekend into early next week. Lows will be in the 60s over most areas each night, except around 70 east coast metro areas. && .AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1217 PM EST Wed Feb 5 2025 VFR conditions will prevails through the period. Some patchy fog could still develop overnight, but should not impact terminals. Easterly/southeasterly winds at 5-10 knots will become light and variable overnight, then become easterly/southeasterly again tomorrow. && .MARINE... Issued at 1217 PM EST Wed Feb 5 2025 East Southeast winds will remain gentle through rest of this week as high pressure builds into the western Atlantic. Seas across the Atlantic and Gulf waters will generally remain at 2 feet or less. Sea fog could develop across the Gulf waters once again overnight, but chances look lower than the past couple of nights. && .BEACHES...
