A broad low/mid level low is forecast to develop over the Bahamas and move slowly to the northwest over south or central Florida through this weekend. This will allow for the steering flow to remain light from the east southeast allowing for deep tropical moisture to work into the region from the Bahamas. Therefore, any showers and thunderstorms that do develop will be slow moving with heavy rainfall possible through this weekend. Total rainfall amounts for the eastern areas of South Florida is forecast to be mostly likely in the 2 to 3 inch range with a reasonable worst case isolated total of 4 to 6 inches. If these higher values occur in a short period of time, there is the potential for pockets of localized flooding. At the moment, the Weather Prediction Center has maintained a marginal risk (level 1 of 4) of excessive rainfall each day through Sunday. Additional updates will be provided as necessary, users are reminded that exact forecast rainfall totals may fluctuate from day to day. So remain weather aware! $$ Baxter/Hadi
