.DISCUSSION...
Light and variable winds through the early morning hours, becoming more
westerly during the late morning through afternoon. As the Gulf breeze makes
its way inland, wind speeds may pick up into the 10 to 12 kt range. Storm
activity for this afternoon will likely favor the eastern half of South
Florida, however, there is still a low (20 to 30% chance) of thunderstorms
developing along sea breeze and outflow boundary collisions at the burn site.
Gusty and erratic winds, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall will be
the main threats. Shower and storm activity looks to dissipate after sunset,
with winds becoming light and variable. Overall, dispersions will be poor to
fair for today. For Saturday, winds shift more southerly and chances for storms
increase into the 50 to 60% range.
