Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California
National Weather Service Medford, OR
221 PM PDT Mon Sep 1 2025

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY
EVENING FOR ABUNDANT LIGHTNING ON DRY FUELS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES
280, 281, 284, 285, 617, 621, 623, 624, AND 625...

...Gusty afternoon and early evening winds with low relative
humidity today across portions of Fire zones 616, 617, 622, 624,

.DISCUSSION...Warm and dry weather is expected today. Afternoon
temperatures will be above normal for the interior and are expected
to trend warmer Tuesday and Wednesday. Low humidities and gusty
afternoon and early evening breezes may result in brief critical
conditions for the interior West Side valleys, Shasta Valley, and
east of the Cascades today. Then, isolated to scattered
thunderstorms are expected Tuesday afternoon and evening. Most this
activity will be from the Cascades east and Siskiyous south but
isolated storms may move into Josephine and Jackson counties in the
evening. Wednesday through late in the week, a slight chance for
thunderstorms continues in the afternoons/evenings, mainly from the
Cascades east.
