Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California...CORRECTED
National Weather Service Medford, OR
249 PM PDT Thu Jun 20 2024

...Gusty westerly winds with low afternoon humidity Saturday and
Sunday east of the Cascades...

.DISCUSSION...Overall, warm (above normal) and dry conditions are
forecast through early next week. Temperatures are likely to be
about 10+ degrees above normal for many locations through this
period. The next system this weekend will bring breezy to gusty
winds, especially the eastside. The overlap of low RH (<20%) and
breezy winds (>15mph) will be most notable Saturday through
Monday. Sunday appears to be the peak of this combination of low
RH and breezy winds (80+% for eastside). Fuels are of course
tricky this time of year in transition to summer, and this may be
the limiting factor regarding fire weather conditions this
weekend. At this time, elevated fire weather conditions should be
anticipated this weekend. Even with the passage of the front, we
are only expecting a slight cool down with RH values staying on
the low side.
