Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California
National Weather Service Medford, OR
249 PM PDT Mon Jun 24 2024

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM PDT TUESDAY FOR
STRONG, GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RH FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 285 IN
CALIFORNIA AND FIRE WEATHER ZONE 624 IN OREGON...

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR STRONG, GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RH FOR FIRE
WEATHER ZONE 285 IN CALIFORNIA AND FIRE WEATHER ZONE 624 AND 625
IN OREGON...

...Gusty southwesterly winds and low afternoon humidity on
Tuesday across Siskiyou County may result in a few hours of
elevated to critical fire weather conditions around Scott
Valley...

.DISCUSSION...A combination of low RH and gusty winds will
produce critical fire weather conditions for at least a few hours
tomorrow afternoon, primarily across northern Modoc, southeast
Klamath, and west/southwest Lake counties. Fuels are tricky this
time of year, and this may be the limiting factor regarding fire
weather conditions today and tomorrow. Tomorrow a watch is in
place for far eastern parts of the forecast area. Stay tuned into
the forecast as we continue to analyze the thunderstorm potential
(<10%) Tuesday night into Wednesday.
