Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina...CORRECTED
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
259 AM EST Tue Nov 11 2025

.DISCUSSION....
...INCREASED FIRE DANGER FOR ALL OF EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA
FROM 10 AM TO 6 PM TUESDAY...

Elevated fire concerns Tuesday and Wednesday due to breezy
winds and low relative humidities. Conditions improve
latter half of the week due to weaker winds, but still dry.

A much drier airmass in place behind the cold fronts from
SUN and MON nights. This dry airmass will remain in place
through much of the upcoming week, and will be accompanied
by periods of breezy NW to W winds TUE and SW winds WED.
Today and tomorrow represent the greatest overlap of
breezy and dry conditions and this is the period that
stands out the most for potential fire weather concerns
this week. These two days also come after the expected
freeze for many inland locations tonight, further
exacerbating concerns with more rapid curing of fuels.
