Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
303 PM EST Tue Nov 25 2025

.DISCUSSION....
A cold front will approach the area throgh Wednesday, finally
pushing across eastern NC late Wednesday. Moist southerly flow
with scattered showers will keep fire weather concerns to a
minimum ahead of the front, but unfortunately, beneficial rainfall
amount are not expected with this system. Cold, dry and breezy
conditions develop Thursday and Friday as Arctic high pressure
builds in behind the front, which may bring fire weather concerns
across much of the region. High pressure builds overhead Saturday
with continued dry but less windy conditions. The high slides
offshore early next week with southerly return flow bringing
improved RH and a chance of showers ahead of the next frontal
system.
