National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
428 AM EDT Sun Oct 4 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will produce
periods of heavy rain through tonight, with rainfall totals
of 1-3" over the weekend for many areas. A drier airmass then
moves in MON as low pressure lifts away to the NE, pulling cool
high pressure across ECONUS into midweek.
