Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
304 PM EST Mon Nov 24 2025

.DISCUSSION....
High pressure will slide offshore tonight with a cold front
approaching the area Tuesday and Wednesday, finally pushing across
eastern NC late Wednesday. Moist southerly flow with scattered
showers will keep fire weather concerns to a minimum ahead of the
front, but unfortunately, beneficial rainfall amount are not
expected with this system. Cold, dry and breezy conditions develop
Thursday and Friday as Arctic high pressure builds in behind the
front, which may bring fire weather concerns across much of the
region. High pressure builds overhead Saturday with continued dry
but less windy conditions. The high slides offshore early next
week with southerly return flow bringing improved RH and a chance
of showers ahead of the next frontal system.
