Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
126 PM EDT Wed Aug 27 2025

.DISCUSSION....
The risk of significant fire Wx concerns appears LOW through much
of the work week as high pressure remains dominant over ENC.

MinRHs bottom out in the mid 30%s inland, 40%s Inner Banks, 50%s
OBX, this afternoon. But, winds generally out of the NW/N remain
light through the day with more onshore flow along the immediate
coast developing late as localized high pressure center drifts
over the Atlantic. Tomorrow, winds will generally be out of the
SSE with min RHs ranging from 40%s inland to the 50%s along the
OBX.
