Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
215 PM EST Tue Nov 18 2025

.DISCUSSION....
High pressure has just pushed offshore of the NC/VA border and
will continue to drift Eward, allowing veering winds to become
more onshore and provide some greater low level moisture content
the rest of the afternoon, but RHs remain in the low to mid 20%s
inland until sunset. Light winds precluded any FireWx headlines.

Passage of a weak warm front tonight and a cold front WED could
bring isolated showers across the area overnight, but an impactful
wetting rain is not expected. Best chance for rain over Nern
areas. However, minimum relative humidity values are expected
to remain around 50% or higher. S-SWerly winds remain below 10kt,
but become stronger WED, turning NWerly in the afternoon behind
the cold front, N-NEerly Thursday.
