Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
1240 AM EST Mon Nov 24 2025

.DISCUSSION....
A dry cold front will push through ENC early this morning,
with cooler and drier high pressure building across ENC. While
minimum relative humidities will be in the 35-40% range away
from the coast today, light winds preclude any fire weather
concerns. A frontal system brings the next chance of rain with
a 15-30% chance of thunderstorms late Tuesday through Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday will bring dry conditions and breezy winds
behind the cold front, warranting further investigation for
fire weather concerns in the coming days should fuels remain dry.
