Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
402 AM EDT Sun Oct 12 2025

.DISCUSSION....
A strong coastal low will continue to impact the area with strong
northeast winds and widespread wetting rainfall. Winds will
eventually shift around to a northwesterly direction, allowing
drier air to filter in. However, the timing of the northwesterly
switch is less certain due to uncertainty in the track of the low.
Regardless, strong, and gusty, winds will continue through
tonight, and potentially into early this week.
