Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
334 AM EST Wed Nov 19 2025

.DISCUSSION....
Weak warm front is currently lifting north across the Mid-Atlantic
this morning as low pressure tracks E`wards across Virginia.
This is out ahead of a cold front which is forecast to track across
ENC this afternoon. Both fronts are forecast to bring widely
scattered showers to ENC, mainly along and north of Hwy 264 this
morning. But, an impactful wetting rain is not expected. However,
minimum relative humidity values are expected to remain around 50%
or higher precluding any Firewx threat. S-SWrly winds remain below
10kt this morning, but become stronger this afternoon, turning NWrly
behind the cold front, then N-NErly Thursday. While winds increase
slightly behind the front this afternoon, they lower later tonight
and remain at or below 10 kts Wed night into Thurs. Don`t expect
Fire wx concerns into Fri with RH`s above 50% across ENC.
