...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 AM EDT...

For the following areas...
Pamlico Sound...
S of Cape Hatteras NC to Ocracoke Inlet NC out to 20 NM...
S of Oregon Inlet NC to Cape Hatteras NC out to 20 NM...

At 1240 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Ar230, or near
Hatteras Inlet, moving east at 20 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
         suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include...
Cape Hatteras, Hatteras Village, Monitor Marine Sanctuary, Hatteras
Inlet, Ar230, Ar220, Diamond Shoals, Ar225, and Ocracoke.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
