...GALE WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Northeast winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 35 kt and
  seas 6 to 9 ft.

* WHERE...The coastal waters from Cape Hatteras to Surf City.

* WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Gale force northeasterly winds will
  continue into this afternoon. After a brief lull, another round
  of gale force winds is expected Saturday into Sunday night as a
  strong coastal low moves north along the coast of the Carolinas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

  with gusts up to 30 kt and seas 7 to 10 ft. For the Gale
  Watch, north winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and seas
  9 to 14 ft possible.

* WHERE...The coastal waters from Duck to Oregon Inlet.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 8 PM EDT Saturday.
  For the Gale Watch, from Saturday evening through Monday
  morning.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderately strong easterly winds will
  continue into Saturday. The easterly winds will then be followed
  up with the potential for widespread gale force winds late
  Saturday into Sunday night as a strong coastal low moves north
  along the coast of the Carolinas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderately strong northeasterly winds will
  continue into this afternoon. After a short lull, there will be
  an increased risk of moderately strong winds returning late
  Saturday into Sunday night as a strong coastal low moves north
  along the coast of the Carolinas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
