.DISCUSSION...
Mixing heights between 2500 and 4000 ft this afternoon, with the
highest in southwestern Wisconsin and the lowest in southeastern
Wisconsin. Light easterly to southeasterly winds, shifting to
southeasterly overnight.
Scattered thunderstorms expected overnight, moving west to east
during the late overnight hours into Saturday morning. South of
I-94, some storms may become strong to severe into the morning
hours, with gusty and erratic winds as the primary threat. Expect
winds to become southwesterly behind these storms. A cold front
will then push northwest to southeast through southern Wisconsin
Saturday afternoon, bringing a wind shift to northwesterly and
additional, more widely scattered thunderstorms. Storms end by
Saturday evening.
Easterly to northeasterly winds return Sunday, with mixing heights
near 4500 ft away from Lake Michigan and temperatures in the upper
70s to near 80 degrees.
