.DISCUSSION...
High rain and lightning storm chances are forecast into the weekend
and through early next week as a stationary front and deep moisture
remain over the Florida Peninsula. Frequent lightning strikes, wind
gusts of 40 to 50 mph, and torrential rainfall leading to localized
flooding are all possible with these storms. Other than lightning,
there are no major fire weather concerns for the area. Winds are
forecast to remain near or below 15 mph, generally turning onshore
each afternoon as the east coast breeze develops. Poor to fair smoke
dispersion today becomes fair to generally good Saturday and Sunday.
Temperatures will remain near to slightly below normal in the
mid/upper 80s to low 90s.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
