.DISCUSSION...
Drier air will remain in place across the Florida peninsula today,
with no mentionable rain chances forecast. By Tuesday, moisture
begins to increase across southern portions of the area,
specifically near the Treasure Coast and areas around Lake
Okeechobee, with rain and storm chances increasing to 20-30%.
Increasing moisture spreads northward on Wednesday, with rain and
storm chances increasing to 50-70%. Lightning, gusty winds, and
heavy downpours will be possible with any activity that develops on
Tuesday and Wednesday. Light and variable winds are anticipated to
continue today, becoming more onshore along the coast as a weak east
coast sea breeze develops and moves inland. By Tuesday onward,
easterly to southeasterly winds develop areawide. Wind speeds are
forecast to remain below 15 mph. Minimum RH values are forecast to
remain above critical thresholds each day. Afternoon smoke
dispersion values are anticipated to be fair today, and fair to
generally good Tuesday and Wednesday.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
