.DISCUSSION...
Rain and lightning storm chances increase again early this afternoon
across the Treasure Coast, then focus further north and into the
interior into late day/early evening. Scattered to numerous showers
and lightning storms will remain in the forecast through the weekend
and early next week with unseasonably deep moisture in place, as
well as a weak front settling southward in the extended. The
potential exists for isolated strong storms each afternoon/evening,
though main hazard will probably be locally heavy rainfall and minor
flooding potential. Lightning strikes and gusty winds locally remain
in play surrounding convection. East-sotuheast winds at 10-15 mph
with gusts to 20-25 mph each afternoon/evening into the weekend.
Afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s with heat index values up to
the mid 90s to around 100F degrees are expected this afternoon.
These slightly above normal conditions will continue into the
weekend and also Monday of next week. Peak heat index values may
approach 98F-103F degrees Friday-Sunday. There are no critical RH
values expected. Dispersion values will be Poor to Generally Good
across east central Florida through Saturday.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
